De Groene Os Fish Omega Dog/Cat 250 ml is a fish oil rich in the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA, supporting various important functions in the bodies of dogs and cats. The two most important essential fatty acids for dogs and cats are EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid).

EPA is important for, among other things, the heart, blood vessels, airways, and communication between nerve cells. DHA has a major impact on the proper functioning of the brain. Sufficient DHA ensures good concentration and better learning performance. Due to the presence of DHA in omega-3, this fatty acid is recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

Dogs and cats lack or have very little of the necessary enzymes to convert essential omega-3 fatty acids from vegetable oils into EPA and DHA. Therefore, it is important for them that these fatty acids are supplied from animal sources.
