Description

The Minelab GO-FIND 44 is the mid-tier entry in the GO-FIND lineup and the first model with Bluetooth audio, a backlit display, Pinpoint mode, Easy-Trak ground tracking, and three dedicated find modes. At 1.1 kg (2.3 lbs) with a 10″ coil, it gives beginners and family detectorists a genuine feature set without a technical learning curve.

What You Gain Moving Up to the GO-FIND 44

  • A dedicated Jewellery and Coins mode. The 44 adds a third find mode that tunes for gold rings and high-value metal targets. The GO-FIND 22 stops at two modes: All Metal and Non-Ferrous. This mode is where the 44 earns its place at parks and jewelry-rich sites.
  • Pinpoint mode for precision recovery. Hold the Pinpoint button to zero in on target location before digging. Smaller holes, faster recoveries, less disturbed turf. Not available on the GO-FIND 22.
  • Bluetooth audio via the free GO-FIND app. Connect wireless earbuds through the app and hunt cable-free. The app also logs finds on Google Maps and helps identify common coins from the target ID display.
  • Backlit display and keypad. White backlighting on both the screen and controls means the GO-FIND 44 is usable at dusk. The GO-FIND 22 has no backlight.
  • Easy-Trak automatic ground tracking. The detector continuously adjusts for soil mineral variation without manual input, keeping signals clean as ground conditions change across a site.
  • 10″ coil for wider coverage. The larger coil covers more ground per swing than the 8″ on the GO-FIND 22, useful on open fields, parks, and beaches where systematic coverage pays off.

Deciding between the GO-FIND 44 and the GO-FIND 66? The 66 adds more discrimination capability and is the top of the series. The GO-FIND 22 is the right pick for young kids or casual outings; the 44 is the right pick when you plan to hunt regularly.

Where the GO-FIND 44 Performs

Park and Coin Hunting

Parks accumulate coins, rings, and jewelry alongside decades of iron debris. The Jewellery and Coins mode tunes for mid-to-high conductivity targets in iron-rich ground without switching to full discrimination. Use Pinpoint before every dig to reduce plug size.

  • Mode: Jewellery and Coins
  • Sensitivity: Level 3
  • Volume: 3–4

Beach and Shoreline

The 10″ Monoloop coil covers wet sand efficiently, rated waterproof to 1 m (3.3 ft). Bluetooth audio keeps setup clean when sun and surf make cable management awkward. The 3-level depth indicator tells you before you scoop.

  • Mode: Non-Ferrous
  • Sensitivity: Level 2–3
  • Volume: 4–5

Low-Light and Evening Detecting

Summer evenings and autumn afternoons cut daylight short. The backlit display and keypad keep the GO-FIND 44 readable through dusk, and Bluetooth via the GO-FIND app removes cable clutter in low-light conditions.

  • Mode: Jewellery and Coins or All Metal
  • Sensitivity: Level 2
  • Volume: 4

VFLEX, Easy-Trak, and the GO-FIND App

The Minelab GO-FIND 44 runs the VFLEX platform at 8 kHz, a single-frequency VLF architecture for general-purpose target separation at park and suburban depths. Eight kHz delivers solid response across mid-conductivity targets: clad coins, silver, copper, and gold jewelry.

Easy-Trak ground tracking compensates automatically for soil mineral variation, which matters on park fill soil and beach approaches where ground conditions shift in a single outing. No manual ground balance to set; the detector handles it in the background. Bluetooth 4.0 connects through the free GO-FIND app (iOS and Android) for wireless audio, coin identification, and Google Maps find logging.

Build, Display, and Audio

The GO-FIND 44 uses the series’ folding shaft: 130.5 cm (51.4 in) extended, 55.5 cm (21.9 in) collapsed, no tools required. The monochrome LCD shows four target ID segments, battery level, depth indicator, and find mode. Five Treasure View LEDs on the front face give a fast visual read: red for iron and trash, green for non-ferrous targets. Both the display and keypad carry white backlighting.

The built-in loudspeaker handles outdoor conditions at five volume levels. Three audio tones separate target types: low for iron, mid for low-value metals, high for coins and precious metals. The 3.5 mm wired output accepts standard earbuds. For wireless audio, the Minelab Koss earbud headphones for the GO-FIND series are the matched factory option (sold separately).

Search Coil

The GO-FIND 44 ships with a 10″ Rectangular Monoloop coil hard-wired to the lower shaft. The 10″ diameter covers more ground per sweep than the 8″ coil on the GO-FIND 22, paying off on open fields and beaches. The coil is waterproof to 1 m (3.3 ft). No optional coils are available for this model.
