Description
Keep your Minelab Excalibur detector powered up for those long beach hunts with this smart NiCAD battery charger. The microprocessor automatically detects whether you’ve got a 4-cell or 10-cell pack and adjusts the charging accordingly—no guesswork needed.
Key Features
- Automatic cell detection – Works with 4-10 cell NiCAD and NiMH battery packs
- LED charging display – Shows exact charge level from 30% to fully charged
- Smart charging protection – Prevents overcharging with automatic trickle charge mode
- Universal compatibility – Works with all Excalibur models including older units
- Error detection – Flashing red/green LEDs alert you to connection issues
- Wall outlet powered – Convenient AC charging from any standard outlet
How the LED Display Works
The four-LED display takes the guesswork out of charging. Flashing red LEDs mean it’s in rapid charge mode. As your battery fills up, you’ll see steady LEDs progress from one (30%) to four (90%). When that green LED lights up, you’re fully charged and the unit automatically switches to trickle charge to maintain your battery without damage.
If you see flashing red and green LEDs together, check your connections—the charger detected a short, reverse polarity, or wrong battery type. It’s actually protecting your gear.
Compatibility and Setup
This charger works with the entire Minelab Excalibur lineup: the Excalibur 1000, 800, II, and original Excalibur models. For Excalibur II detectors, you’ll need the separate adaptor plug to convert from the push-in connector to the 3-pin battery pack connection.
The microprocessor technology means it handles both Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride batteries safely. Whether you’re running an older Excalibur with the original battery setup or a newer model, this charger adapts to what you’ve got.
Note: This is the updated version replacing part number 3011-0239.
