A hamster prefers to deposit its droppings in a specific spot. A good way to house-train your hamster is to provide a real toilet filled with material that absorbs moisture and odors.
If you sprinkle some material from the “old toilet corner” into the hamster toilet after cleaning, the hamster will know what it’s for. Using the toilet will, of course, keep the cage considerably cleaner.
Also suitable for mice.
