Description
The carbon fiber construction makes these Steve’s Detector Rods 11% lighter than your factory Equinox shafts while delivering better stability through improved engineering. You’ll notice the difference during long detecting sessions.
Key Features
- 11% lighter than factory rods – reduces arm fatigue during extended hunts
- Improved stability with longer lower rod insertion into middle section
- One-piece upper construction eliminates wobble completely

- Lower rod extends 26″ with spring button at factory position (22 3/4″)
- 3K carbon fiber with glossy twill pattern finish
Why Upgrade Your Equinox Rods
Factory Equinox rods work fine, but they’re heavier than they need to be. Steve’s carbon rods solve the weight issue while actually improving rigidity. The upper shaft’s one-piece construction stops that annoying wobble you get with stock shafts after some use.
The lower rod design is clever – it’s slightly longer than factory but keeps the spring button in the same spot. This means more rod stays inserted in the middle section when you adjust length, creating a more stable connection. You get better balance without changing how your Minelab Equinox metal detector feels in your hands.
Compatibility & Installation
These rods work with both Equinox 600 and 800 models. The cam lock and clevis connections match factory specs exactly, so installation is straightforward. The rubber end cap and washers are included.
Looking for individual components? Steve’s also makes upper shafts and lower rods separately if you only need one piece.
